We were able to have a bit of a stroll in town both before and after breakfast this morning. It is quite a spread out town with very large house blocks but lots of empty shops.
After breakfast we all met at the Quilpie Visitor Centre where we were given time to browse then met our guide Meagan who hopped on the coach and gave us a tour of the town then out of town to Baldy Top lookout for a great view over the mulga.
Back to the Visitor Centre for morning tea before we were on the coach again for a drive to the Eromanga Natural History Museum for its fascinating dinosaur and magafauna display of fossils they had dug up in the local area.
Lunch at the Museum was a delightfully light meal of a vegetable pie and salad.
Back on the coach to return to Quilpie where we had 2 hours of free time to sort our bags then walk to the supermarket to stock up on things we needed.
Dinner at the motel tonight was another delicious meal and again, as we could serve ourselves, it was not too big.
