I've been waiting for a few months watching my dragon fruit until it indicated it was ripe (ends of bracts starting to brown).
I decided today was the day. I held it firmly and had to cut it off.
But when I turned it over...
Something had made a hole in the underside and some clever ants were in it making the most of their beautifully ripe dragonfruit. Oh no! is the polite version of what I thought.
The chooks are now enjoying my first ever dragonfruit crop.

How disappointing, Betty!
ReplyDeleteHow very disappointing, as it looked so good from the top.
