Stormwater difficulties

One major issue with all this rain has been that my storm water drainage from the house to the street was not working. It turns out that when the plumber dug it up it has been  broken and then patched and then the patched bit of pipe was bent. This resulted in the water having to run uphill (not possible) so all the sand and silt had accumulated in the 'pipe' and blocked it completely.

Now I have a completely new pipe installed and tested. It has also allowed the plumber to eel out the rest of the pipe which seems to be intact.

Until the rain stops and the plumber can return to concrete in the exit area in the street gutter my safety barrier is my yellow bin.

What a load of rubbish he has to take away when he returns.

There is a continuing saga of course. He has recommended installing a sump and grill under where my car parks so that any further sand and gutter refuse can collect there and be cleaned out as required. That will happen another day, soon I hope.
