Birthday celebrations and a visitor

For my birthday I was so pleased to have a visit from Ellen et al who brought me gifts and a cake made by the boys, Cathy who brought me flowers, Geoff and family who helped me blow out the candles and brought me a jisaw puzzle and some gold fish and Kerrie who came to stay for 4 nights.

Kerrie brought with her lots of sewing to do as well as this lovely little book pouch she had been given. This might inspire me to do some different things with my doileys.

We cooked up produce which included chocos and quinces roasted with pomegranate.

Kerrie's main project was to make some pot mits from fabric she brought with her. Lots of lessons learned in a hurry.

The wet weather has encouraged mushrooms to grow from the windowsill in the girl's bedroom.

On the second Wednesday of each month there is a Jazz night at St Stephen's so Kerrie and I ventured out in the rain a covid and had a wonderful night of entertainment which included drinks and a light dinner.

Our snippets of spare time were spent on the birthday jigsaw. It is extremely difficult but with a few pieces added each day it should only take a year or so!!

We also visited Hazelhurst Gallery at Gymea and I has a few favourites from the HSC Major Works.

Nonna done in collage - just amazing detail.

New Growth on Burnt Trees - most effective.

Miniature First Nations construction techniques - all done to scale.

A city made from corrugated cardboard and other found materials - such amazing detail, even at very close range.

Some inspiration on the wall of the cafe at Hazelhurst. Perhaps I can figure out somewhere to hang all my rusty tools?

What a great week it has been. I am now having a very quiet Easter Saturday just doing a lot of gardening and 'pick and putting' after having ignored all sorts of chores for the week.
