At last Cathy and I have done the final touches on the path on what we now call the "arch garden". There are more plans for this area, some of which are shown below.
There was a break in all the gardening work when Ivy came for a sleepover. We went to a flute concert and the next day went to see Cats.
Mixed with all the music we had a lovely time at home doing the next steps on Ivy's quilt and teaching her to knit.
The passionfruit vines that went through so much trauma during the carport demolition are now shooting new leaves and look as though they are going to survive their ordeal.
I also had a chance on a very fine and sunny winter day to wheel out my clothesline. Everything dried in one day!
My Sunday gardening with Geoff saw the chookshed with its weldmesh roof complete and insulation installed in the shed part. It is now cat, fox and cockatoo proof (we hope). The next step is to fix the gate to the indoor part and set up water and food. Then the lucky chooks can move in. Eventually it will have passionfruit vines and other vegetation growing over it to disguise it a bit.
Yesterday Pernilla came to stay and we tackled the triangle garden. Pernilla dug out the weeds, I did a quick Soil n Stuff order, then transplanted all my roses. It will basically be a garden for roses (if they survive), violets and bulbs. That should give me lots of perfume and colour throughout the year. Of course all the maidenhair fern (native to here I think) will fill the bare patches.
Thanks Pernilla for all the back breaking work.
Good to hear the garden renos are going well.....
