Spring Green hit us as we arrived at Underhill last weekend. Elaine and I drove down and visited Cal on the way in. We arrived for morning tea. Geoff and family arrived in the evening just before dinner.
The clearing looks good but it is all very short as it is being grazed by who knows what.
The Berry Yard is quite lush.
The Dog Yard is lush with the green manure seeds that Geoff scattered a few months ago. Hopefully all the seeds coming on will self sow in other places.
The central orchard area is also looking good. We have lost some of the little trees but lots are showing signs of life.
My biggest disappointment is that the Damson is very dead. No more Damson jam but also no more cutting up of Damsons which is a very slow process.
The dams are still quite full and the little Oaks are still alive as are all Geoff's black walnut seedlings and the Macadamia.
We used the new stove and it works really well. It fits really long logs and even unsplit logs but works better if the logs are split into two or three bits first.
There will be lots of adjustments of the positioning of grills and steel plates and eventually the pizza oven that fits on the far end and provides a chimney.
