A fulfilling morning with Cathy

Today Cathy and I were busy in the garden again working on just two little patches. The first was the entry into the veggie garden which was quite sandy and was obviously not going to every grow any grass. It also had quite a trip hazard root from the Red Cedar tree.

After chopping out the root and finding the appropriate pavers we  created a sloping path that the mower will ride up and people won't trip on.

Next we tackled the old recycling box which no longer had any real use and was rotting quite badly. We had built it in the early 1970s to hold all our stuff for delivering to recycling centres before the yellow bin was a part of life.

In the space the box came from we have now created a little garden area and space for the hose to hang.

We have now temporarily moved a long pot with some hibiscus cuttings in it to fill the area along the fence and moved the bird's nest fern we had taken from the ginger patch a few weeks ago.

Little by little we are working together to sort each area of the garden and garage until all is tidy and in its right place. I'd never be able to do it all without Cathy.

I now have quite a stash ready for our street clean up in mid November.
