Quiet Earth, Small Things day 3

I love violets. This stems from staying with my Granny who had lots in her garden. I've had trouble growing them in the past but this year they have bounced into life in my new 'arch garden'. The smell is great as I walk around the little path.

It is amazing how these little things bring back memories of cooking and painting with Granny who died when I was about 8 years old.

I used my scrounged violet crockery for most of my married life but unfortunately the pattern disappeared in the dishwasher. The remaining pieces now decorate my kitchen shelf.

The Royal Albert set was bought for me by Surrey in the year that he died. It all arrived from the UK intact!
